A whole new film!
I brought my copy of the DVD over to a friend’s house the other night. Since I have seen the series so many times I didn’t immediately start watching it with them. After a few minutes, while in the other room, I started to hear the difference. -I had always watched the show on headphones, from my computer, usually alone- At first, I actually thought they were watching something else, which was related. What I immediately noticed is how much better the film sounds when its played on a TV, with surround sound. I was surprised at how much music and effect was put into this, -something that I never really got a full grasp on when watching it before.- Even the intro to the film, which i originally didn't like, became much better! My friends also finally began to appreciate it. It was difficult before to tell them 'hey, watch this show online' and so they never really got into it. But watching it, uncut and feature length, I was amazed at the response they had; they really seemed to enjoy all the elements of it. They even really got into the characters and commented on Michael's pride in his faith and Alan's realism. And honestly, these guys wouldn't humor me if they didn't like the movie! In fact, the only thing they didn’t like was that I kept talking through it about everyone in the production -they made me shut up!

The second run of the show has some of the new elements which can be seen in the DVD: extended scenes, different takes, and a more in-depth storyline. -Just watch episode 12 to see what I mean- But, really, the DVD puts the whole picture into a completely new perspective. It becomes a whole production, and it becomes much clearer, how even and paced the story really is. Aside from that, the music and sound effects are crisp and the cinematography really comes alive when all the elements are played in better quality for viewing. Seriously, check it out, pump up the volume, and you will see what I mean.

Cheers all!

RE: A whole new film!
yeah i was actually wondering about if and when it was coming to tv.. where did you buy it? thanks for the info!

Geert- is there any 16 year old parts i can audition for? I'm a really keen actor and work very hard but the closest auditions your using for my age is 22-30. I love your show, watch it every day and been researching it more in depth so i can get a jist of what it would be like working in Africa. Am i able to send in an audition video? it would be a dream come true acting on The Interior and especially with Hanna Verboom.

Cheers, Belinda

Hi Belinda,

We have no parts for 16-year olds yet, but maybe you can convince us? You know the vibe of the show by now, why don't you put up an audition for a character that you feel fits the show? Can't promise anything, but there's also other people (besides us) scouting these auditions for talent. So my advice would be to give it your best shot. You never know.

Best,
Geert

RE: A whole new film!
So glad to hear back, sitting on the computer just read your reply.. shaking with excitement. I'll give the audition video my best shot, I want this so badly. This may sound very unprofessional but would I be able to do an audition similar to Hanna's where she is, in a way, acting like she she was already on the show getting ready to leave and packing? Because there may not be a part for me and the position has no description i'm not too sure what I am looking towards in the video. First thing tomorrow I will get started! Already have ideas in mind.

Thank you, Belinda

RE: A whole new film!
Hi again Geert,

I have researched auditions and gotten some ideas for a character. I have'nt thought of a name, (thought you may want to do that if this goes through) but my character goes to Africa after graduating year 12 for minor missionary work and is very religious. I thought maybe her personality would be bubbly, down to earth and earth loving, (she has a slight hippie-ish appearence). She is also independent and gets on well with people and locals.
I was'nt too sure if you wanted any more information but i just wrote some things down just in case. Y'know maybe as her role she could start to discover things were'nt as she first thought and begins to see strange things (like Bonnie and Michael). She may become friends with the wrong people and starts to feel concerned, worried and afraid. She becomes friends with Bonni and has some kind of tie with her, also telling her what she has been seeing.

Make any changes you like that was just a vague idea. Change it completely i don't mind! I have other things in mind but check out my audition first.

I have posted my audition check it out.

Fingers crossed!

Belinda

Hi Geert,

Sorry to bother you again (I realise you would be very busy with auditions), but there seems to be a mix up with my youtube acount so I was unable to put my audition on it today. I've found the problem and the video will be put up first thing tomorrow so hopefully you will get it the next time you check.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'm looking forward to seeing this character, Belinda. Some unsolicited advice: Now that you have a basic breakdown of her traits, start writing in first person (as the character)...maybe even a diary or travel journal. Your inner life and inner monologue will kick in, if they haven't already. Focus, center, and you go, girl!

RE: A whole new film!
Thanks so much for the advice. I was a bit stuck with ideas. I made a few audition tapes yesterday but I feel like I could've done better so i'm doing some more today. You sort of cringe at the site of yourself when your watching them at first, but I really think i've improved already.

Cheers, Belinda
