What a joy to step out of the plane and feel the warm wind tickle your skin. To stand face to face with a bright-smiling Panamanian immigration officer. To inhale the sweet, tropical scents surrounding you.

I love Panama….From the first day on. On my arrival in Panama city, I get to meet up with the makers Helmut Schleppi and Geert Heetebrij, and producer David Bijker. It’s great to hear about their exciting plans for ‘The interior’.

From Panama City, it’s a 2-hour, gorgeous trip to the first location… Portobello’s jungle! The shoot hasn’t even begun, but I am already enjoying myself to the max. My cabana has a hammock overlooking the ocean… It’s all I need to unwind from 24-hour commerce, cell phones and Internet; I’m leaving the West behind. I fall asleep with the sound of waves crashing in the background, and dream of all the excitement that awaits.

The next day we prep for the shoot. I talk with Geert and Helmut about the character of Bonni, and we discuss some scenes. That afternoon, Christian Badami and our second DP, Shari Odell, arrive. I have to admit, I feel quite nervous about meeting my ‘onscreen’ husband. I have never seen his work or done a ‘chemistry’ audition with him. All I know is his YouTube-audition. What if he’s… a prick? Or worse, a horrible actor?

But none of this is true. Christian is adorable. A sweetheart, very passionate about his work and about the role of Michael! We joke around, rehearse our lines and before we know it, the sun has set over our last preparation day.

Tomorrow we start shooting……..The Interior!!!!
